IVA -Ivana Svabic Cannon, is an artist illustrator and printmaker who is based in Bristol. Serbian born, who started her career as a children’s book illustrator in London in ’92.
Iva has had ten solo shows and has exhibited widely in the UK and Europe in over a hundred group exhibitions. Since ’99, she has been a member of Spike Print Studio in Bristol, where she makes prints and participate in all annual group exhibitions.
Iva’s prints of water are subjective interpretations of her emotional connection to seawater and waves. In the rhythmical movement of the waves, arriving and departing, the artist implies the breathing pattern, which for her represents the universal life principle and inevitable cycle of life.
